Happy Turkey Day!

I just about have everything ready to go, I have rebuilt the stylesheets to w3c standards, checked them for layout and functionality in multiple browsers, found a new hosting company, got a new forum, picked gallery software, collected, formatted and refitted all new images and a bunch of other junk that webmasters do.

If there is content on the forums you want for future reference then bookmark it, copy and paste, whatever you need to do, I will do my best to compile game info for the game closet and review pages but I will not be carrying over links and offer no guarantees to preserving the aforementioned data. I'll wait about a week, maybe two if I hear people need more time before I switch to the other hosting server.

So this is the new look more or less. Still waiting on some artwork and getting content together, need more good screenshots. The Game Closet and Communities buttons don't go anywhere yet and the others are places you've already been.

My immediate plans:

  • complete construction of the Game Closet, where you can launch installed games, download campaign maps and that sort of thing.
  • populate the Communities page with links to other groups like TCA and PHX, personal pages, etc.
  • make Kelk's favicon
  • apply new style to existing pages
  • add a gallery

Not necessarily in that order.

Not a whole lot going on. The Transdim community is currently spread out playing City of Villains, EQ2, Roma Victor, Battlefield 2, 40k and a healthy selection of single player games among others.

PHX-Data of
Phoenix Gaming recently made us an offer to join them on their Battlefield 2 server, I thought that was cool, they seem like a decent bunch. Details in the forums.

I've been working a little on the site behind the scenes playing with my new ka-nowledge, school is out for me in a week and I'll start putting the new pages up once that's over. They are DRASTICALLY different and I anticipate issues with my css skills so please use the "Site Development" forums to point out my inadequecies in full detail  :).

Eek! I didn't leave comments on the fourth! Ok, well, I love my country, I support the President and I believe we are the most privileged citizens in the world so thank you England for not pressing the matter way back when.

I'm still here. I haven't done much actual work on the site lately but the planning stage is coming along nicely :). The Flash class I took was helpful and I have a few ideas for offending people with it but first I have to knock out a project for work, they did pay for it after all. I'm currently taking a Photoshop class as well as a general website building class so expect the site to change dramatically over the course of the summer, I'll be applying some structure and theme, incorporating the logo and hopefully learning enough css to sync the game specific pages with the home page with relative ease. I'm also collecting footage for a little intro movie using fraps for game shots and a digicam for other. I don't have an active account for every game represented on the site so if you are so inclined and have the technology I need landscape shots with single characters (or ships or whatever) and that same character/vessel engaged in some type of combat. I could also use some stills of hardware for icons, console controllers, kewl looking monitors, that sort of thing. Please send to whatever email I have listed for Webmaster in the forums. Thanks :).

It's Mother's Day, get off the computer! Didn't plan ahead? Didn't get her anything? Then do it tomorrow, seriously, it's your mom.

Threw a few new things up on the homepage. See what happens when you make suggestions?

So, it is April twentieth. Numerically, that could also be read as 4/20. Not that that means anything. Unless it means something to you. Not that it should, but if it does...um, have a nice day...or something. If it doesn't, you should still have a nice day. Lots of things can make up a nice day. For me the best days revolve around a kind word or gesture from someone unexpected or I also like finding meaning or symbolism in stuff I see every day but don't notice much, there was this one time at work, a guy brought in this crumpled up little piece of paper......wait, what were we talking about?

Happy happy happy happy happy happy Easter! Now what did I do with that bunny?...

Our forums cleared 1000 posts. I guess it's time to accept that I have a website to maintain. <sigh> I'll start working on the DDO page tonight, get some of that good info in a more accessible format. I could still use some help with some of the graphics, the design of our logo especially. I have psd's of all the site images available upon request for anyone who wants to work on them. Don't get me wrong, this is fun stuff and I don't mind doing it but I'd like the whole site to be a community effort, there are people here that I've never met and I dare say a good few who haven't a clue who I am at all and I want the site to reflect all of our interests, a collective if you will, of our ideas, visions and gaming experiences. Meh, before I completely lose you through my gaiety, please see the forums about how you can help with pics and pages if you are so inclined......Did I mention that we hit 1000 posts?

Haven't had much to say lately if you couldn't tell. Work has been really busy and almost all the software I use for the site is there so um, yeah. Just today though I have acquired some web editing stuff that I can use at home so we'll see, depends on how frustrated I get with the installation process. Pretty much all of my free time has been spent immersed in DDO, must...get...one...more...level... Any time that's left between work and play I'm trying to catch up on schoolwork that I should have been doing instead of playing DDO. <shrug> (hat's off to you SuperD for doing it right)

In other news: Kelkyen has provided some news on the forums about a neat little tool. I know, he provides that stuff all the time but this is one that I like so it gets front page recognition :). It's a screen/video capture program, the free trial is actually useable and the full version download itself is fairly inexpensive, we bought it immediately after we tried it (fraps.com). It would be cool to have a few videos for the site so make some, it's fun. Also, I'd really like us to have a frigging logo. I am currently on week 3 of my 6 week Flash course and will be in a better position to design one when that's done I think but I am NOT an artist and I know some of you are so if you have a vision, please share.
Um, that's it I guess for today. Play games.

The site works! A couple of weeks ago someone posted a link for a new game, someone tried it out and gave a great review so someone else tried it out, this continued. Today, about half of the transdim collective begin playing Dungeons & Dragons online as a full guild. This pleases me :). A similar scenario took place around Battlefield 2 but I don't play that so it doesn't get as much air time on the homepage. Point is, this site was created to keep our gaming community playing and expanding and it looks like that is indeed what is happening. A sincere thank you to all for contributing, the success is solely a result of your efforts.

BTW, it's not too late to join us during the Head Start feature of DDO. EB and Gamespot have apparently "sold out" of preorder keys but several other retailers are still offering the package. See the DDO forums for details.

It's every gamer's favorite holiday! Love love love love love! C'mon though you gotta give props, even the games themselves pay homage to the greatest power of all. The great couples, Link and Zelda, Mario and Peach, Boen and Rhino (what?! you don't know Boen and Rhino? then you've never really played FFVIII the way it was meant to be played!) Sure there are guns and swords, fireballs, collection quests, godlike abilities, yadda yadda but I challenge you to find a game that doesn't have a love story embedded in it somewhere. And don't try to be smart and roll off a list of mmorpg's, the cyber flows through them like eww through yuck. Happy Valentine's Day everybody!

February, February... Seems there was something I was supposed to do...

Friday the thirteenth. I have no time to share thoughts today but I thought the date deserved honorable mention at least :). What are you doing here anyway, why aren't you playing?

1-05-2006
Eek! 2006! When did that happen?
So, looks like the forums are doing ok. thanks to those who have provided feedback on them. As far as site development, my immediate plans are to finish the homepage graphic, imaging in general really, move content over from the old Everquest page (you'll see) and create a page for SWG that will house static Intrepid/ISF info. I have a lot going on between work and school so between those things and the forum stuff it'll probably be few weeks before that's all done and I start a new list of stuff to do. Why did I publish an unfinished site to begin with? Shut up.

12-27-2005
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. I know the holiday season can be slow for gaming, we think "Ooh, I have "x" number of days off, I'll be able to..." but then family and friends muscle in and shower us with love and food and gifts. *sigh* Ah well, you gotta do what you gotta do.

I got a few new styles to choose from up on the forums, I'm having trouble getting most to work though, I'll have a look at those at a later date. I'll be on vacation from my vacation for the next couple of days until then "Go Go Go!!! Play Play Play!!!"

12-18-2005
Hmm, just realized I never mentioned why this site was created in the first place. We like to play games. Board, strategy, ccg's, miniatures, table-top, roleplaying, console, pc, portable, we love them all. So what makes online gaming any different from the rest? The other people!!! Every mmorpg et al has a huge enough player base, thousands upon thousands of people and each with it's own fan sites, official sites, forums on every topic imaginable, why create another one? Because this site isn't about the games, it's about the community.

We've all tried multiple games, some were good, some sucked, some were amazing, but none last forever. So we say goodbye to the handful of people we met that we actually liked more than tolerated and hope the next game yields slightly more than a bunch of ninja looting, kill stealing, spatial spamming ass monkeys. Here's where the purpose of this site comes in. The idea is to keep in touch as we bounce from game to game getting bored with one or frustrated with another, we wanted a place to convene, see what everyone is up to. It's the answer to the question, "Whatever happened to "insert name of missed player here"?"

That's the basic idea anyway. With your help I hope to provide a little more functionality than that, I'm counting on you, the players, to steer this site in the direction you'd like to see it go in. If you do have any ideas or suggestions, I have created a category in the forums specifically for site development, use it up :).

12-16-2005
Ok, forums are up, rough looking but up. I'll play around with the CSS later and work on the look. For now, have at them!

12-12-2005
Yeah yeah, I know. But hey, it's finals week and after a weekend of grinding alts through double xp, this slacker-student has major catch up work to do. I'll make the forums a top priority this week so people can at least start to make suggestions, volunteer their services, bitch, whatever. For today though I need to get my homogeneous and anisotropic universes straight for my exam!

12-02-2005
Still working on the graphic. I have orcs, bombers and dragons to add to the battlefield. The side bar links currently go to that game's homepage, the long term goal is to have a page for each game where the game's home site will be but one of many features. I will make the forums and chat functional next week. I may or may not keep the portal, the idea for that is to be able to launch the games from the site and I am not a programmer so... I'll also look at creating some forms or a wiki or something that people can use quickly and easily that shows where everyone is logged in (everyone that wants to be found).

12-01-2005
This will be the announcements section. I'll keep it updated and categorized as it fills up. Eventually there will be a form available by one of the links to submit announcements through the site.
